Cazadores Tequila
Every once in a while you can find a majestic stag roaming the fields of blue agave in the highland town of Arandas in Jalisco, Mexico.
In 1922, a local farmer chose the stag, an emblem in the highlands, as the perfect symbol for his new recipe of smooth yet flavorful tequila. He named his tequila “Cazadores” or “The Hunters,” after the years he spent trying to find the perfect recipe to share with family and friends.
A hard-working farmer in Arandas, Mexico spent his nights secretly developing a high-quality recipe superior to the traditional pulque consumed at local cantinas. After years of refinement, our founder finally perfected the Tequila CAZADORES® recipe in 1922.
It is from this recipe that a community was born – an ecosystem of tequila that powers the town of Arandas, deep in the highlands of Jalisco. From the jimadores in the field to the taquerias who feed the bottlers after a long day’s work-all the people in Los Altos play a valuable role creating our high quality, 100% agave tequila for the world.
Made from 100% Blue Agave, Tequila CAZADORES® requires a seven-step fully sustainable and zero waste production process including double distillation, double fermentation and careful maturation process, overseen and crafted by Maestro Tequilero. And while it remains true to our recipe from 1922, today’s production process has evolved to reflect the growing demand for Tequila CAZADORES® and the efforts we have made to ensure a completely sustainable operation.
